Real Estate Tax Collectors Report: Ms. Torris reported the original 2003 county assessment figures for the borough were $305,218,150, which resulted in a face tax amount of $2,054,118.15. The assessed value on the tax statements was $301,337,998, which resulted in a face tax amount of $2,028,004.73. Ms. Torris will provide a memorandum to the manager. Council Committee Reports:
Building and Grounds: Ms. Kovach reported the playground equipment from Miracle Equipment has arrived for the borough parks. Public Works Department will complete the installation.
Finance: Mr. Cheberenchick motioned to ratify the Treasurer's Report; Ms. Kovach seconded; all in favor; motion carried. Library: Nothing to report. Planning and Codes: Nothing to report.
Public Safety: Mr. Hartswick presented Resolution 484 -Emergency Operations Plan. Mr. Carlucci motioned to adopt Resolution 484 at its first reading; Ms. Kovach seconded; all in favor; motion carried.
Public Works: Mr. Coffey questioned the status of the applicants for the seasonal positions with the Public Works Department. Mr. Hartswick stated that all six positions have been filled. Editorial Board: Mr. Hartswick reported the spring newsletter proof has been approved and is at the printers. MRTSA: Mr. Cheberenchick announced an open house on May 18th from 1:00-4:00. Mayor Baumgarten added a Health Fair is scheduled for Friday.
Municipal Associations: Police Pension: Nothing to report. Earned Income Tax Collector's Report: April distribution analysis: EIT - $53,394.89; OPT - $1,713.80.Engineer Report: Nothing to report. Manager's Report: Mr. Hartswick presented the SHACOG bid results for the 2003 Summer Road Material tabulation. Mr. Coffey motioned to approve the 2003 Summer Road Material tabulation; Ms. Kovach seconded; all in favor; motion carried. Mayor's Report: Mayor Baumgarten commented on Whitehall's “Welcome” signs and suggested the borough may wish to purchase new signs. Planning Commission: Mr. Hartswick received a letter of interest for serving on the board from Vince Kochenderfer. Mr. Cheberenchick motioned to appoint Mr. Kochenderfer to complete the term vacated by Joseph Cordier with an expiry of December 31, 2003; Mr. Kirk seconded; all in favor; motion carried. Mr. Zezulewicz requested Mr. Hartswick attend the June 19th meeting to introduce Mr. Kochenderfer to the other board members. Solicitor: Nothing to report. Keystone Oaks: Mr. Hartswick requested council approve the use of the Municipal Center for the Hitters World Baseball Camp from June 16-19 through the youth association. Council concurred. Zoning Hearing Board: Nothing to report.
Other Business: Ms. Kovach questioned the status of the purchase of a bunker rake. Mr. Hartswick answered the rake was ordered.
