The Friends of the Community Library of Castle Shannon is a group of people interested in fundraising to sponsor
most of the children’s programming and activities. This group works in
coordination with Heather Ann Anderson, the Children’s Librarian.
The Friends support the Summer Reading Program, the Halloween Parade
and Breakfast with Santa. The fundraisers sponsored by the Friends are
the book sales and flea markets.
Any person interested in being a member of the Friends can pick up an
application at the Library, the book sale or the flea market. The Friends
collect yearly dues of $5 per person, $15 for families or $25 for patrons. We
are currently collecting dues for the 2009 membership.
The Friends of the Community Library had a reorganization meeting on
August 26. The new officers are Wayne Cook, President; Gretchen Barnhart,
Vice President and Jean O’Malley, Secretary/Treasurer.
