Please contact us by emailing your request to calendar@borough.castle-shannon.pa.us A list of regularly scheduled Castle Shannon Community Meetings Borough Council: Second and fourth Mondays of each month, Municipal Center, 7 p.m. During the months of June, July, August, and December meetings will be held on the second Monday of each of those months, starting at 7 p.m. Planning Commission: Third Monday of each month (except July and August), Municipal Center, 7:00 p.m. Castle Shannon Seniors: Last Saturday of each month, Community Library of Castle Shannon, 1 p.m. Castle Shannon Youth Association Third Tuesday every month Municipal Center, 7:30 p.m. Board of Trustees, Community Library of Castle Shannon: First Thursday of each month (except June, July and August), Library, 7 p.m. Friends of the Community Library of Castle Shannon: Meets on call at the Library. St. Anne Seniors: Third Wednesday, Harkins Hall, 1 p.m. St. Winifred 55-Plus Club: First Tuesday, St. Winifred Gym, 1 p.m. 2010 Garbage / Recycling Schedule
Garbage collection will be every Monday or Thursday. 2010 Clean House Days Large, unwanted items such as construction materials, scrap metal, aluminum and large brush can be disposed of during the borough’s 2010 Clean House Days. These items, which are not normally collected with the regular trash pick-up, can be placed curbside in May & October (dates to be determined). Remember that state laws prohibit the collection the following items: paint, oil, petroleum products, batteries, appliances containing of CFCs(Freon), chemicals, engine or car parts, and hazardous or infectious wastes. Please note tires are no longer being collected. If you have any questions, please contact the administration office for clarification. Recycling will be picked up bi-monthly as indicated on the calendar. The following materials are to be included in the
recycling program: clear glass, brown glass, All recyclables must be placed curbside in either a blue
recycling bin or a similar container. If your garbage and/or recycling has been missed, report it to the borough office by calling 412-885-9200, ext. 100. Around, Goes Around  |
